JOB SUMMARY:

America's Logistics Combat Support Agency

The Defense Logistics Agency (DLA) is a U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) agency. DLA provides worldwide logistics support for the missions of the Military Departments and the Unified Combatant Commands under conditions of peace and war. It also provides logistics support to other DoD Components and certain Federal agencies, foreign governments, international organizations, and others as authorized.  

This position is a Nonappropriated Fund (NAF) position with DLA Installation Support at the Fort Belvoir, VA in the Morale, Welfare, and Recreation (MWR) Division, Child Development Center.

This is a regular part time position (minimum 20 hours a week) which includes benefits, (i.e. accrual of annual and sick leave, Retirement, 401K, Health Insurance Plan, Life Insurance Plan, Flexible Spending).

Multiple candidates may be selected from this announcement for (Child and Youth Program Assistant Entry Level 2, Skill Level 3, and Target Level 4l), however education documentation must be part of the application packet.

Candidates will be screened for suitability and level of responsibility based on current qualifications.  Salary will be commensurate with a combination of experience and/or education.

  • Entry Level: Must be 18 years of age, possess a High School Diploma or GED and be able to lift 40 lbs. 

    Skill level: Requirements of Entry Level, three months experience and possess Army Entry Level Training
    Certificate or at least nine semester hours college credits in early
    childhood/elementary/secondary/special education, child/youth development, psychology, human
    development, youth program administration, recreation or related behavioral sciences or one year
    vocational certificate in childcare. (Please provide college transcripts)

    Target Level (CY-02) Requirements of Skill Level, twelve months
    child care experience and possess Army Foundation Level Training Certificate or twelve semester
    hours college credit in one of the area listed above. All Child Youth Program Assistants (CYPA) are
    required to begin working towards their Child Development Associate (CDA) during their entry level
    training. All CYPA's must complete their CDA by the time all training modules are complete.

    Must possess a High School Diploma or GED. Education must be stated on your application.


    Applicant must successfully complete and maintain all required background checks IAW AR 215-3
    to include the initiation/completion of Child National Agency Check with Inquiries
    (CNACI).


    Applicants must be 18 years of age at time of appointment.


    Applicants for this position must pass a pre-employment medical examination.
    Immunizations may be required as a condition of employment for the health and safety of those in
    the facility as determined by medical authority.


    Must be able to lift and carry up to 40 pounds, walk, bend, and stoop and stand on a routine basis.
    Duties may involve working both indoors and outdoors.

    If qualifications are met for Skill Level 3 and Target Level 4 college transcripts must be submitted with application packet.

    Conditions of employment:

    7.  Incumbent must be available and flexible to work the hours anywhere from 5:45 am until 5:45 pm.
