America's Logistics Combat Support Agency

The Defense Logistics Agency (DLA) is a U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) agency. DLA provides worldwide logistics support for the missions of the Military Departments and the Unified Combatant Commands under conditions of peace and war. It also provides logistics support to other DoD Components and certain Federal agencies, foreign governments, international organizations, and others as authorized.  

This position is a Nonappropriated Fund (NAF) position with DLA Installation Support at Fort Belvoir, VA, in the Morale, Welfare, and Recreation (MWR) Division, Child and Development Center.

This is an intermittent  (Flex) position which will be scheduled on an as needed basis (no guaranteed hours). Flex employees are not entitled to leave or benefits.

NOTE:  This announcement has a first cut-off date which will be 24 March 2017.  All qualified applicants who will submit their application packet by this date will be referred first to the Selecting Official, after this date applicants will be referred according to the date the application packet has been received.  The final closing date for this announcement will be 1 May 2017.

  • Entry Level: Must be 18 years of age, possess a High School Diploma or GED and be able to lift 40 lbs. 

    Skill level: Requirements of Entry Level, three months experience and possess Army Entry Level Training
    Certificate or at least nine semester hours college credits in early
    childhood/elementary/secondary/special education, child/youth development, psychology, human
    development, youth program administration, recreation or related behavioral sciences or one year
    vocational certificate in childcare. (Please provide transcripts)

    Target Level (CY-02) Requirements of Skill Level, twelve months
    child care experience and possess Army Foundation Level Training Certificate or twelve semester
    hours college credit in one of the area listed above. All Child Youth Program Assistants (CYPA) are
    required to begin working towards their Child Development Associate (CDA) during their entry level
    training. All CYPA's must complete their CDA by the time all training modules are complete.

    Must possess a High School Diploma or GED. Education must be stated on your application.

    Applicant must successfully complete and maintain all required background checks IAW AR 215-3
    to include the initiation/completion of Child and Youth National Agency Check with Inquiries

    Applicants must be 18 years of age at time of appointment.

    Applicants for this position must pass a pre-employment medical examination.
    Immunizations may be required as a condition of employment for the health and safety of those in
    the facility as determined by medical authority.

    Must be able to lift and carry up to 40 pounds, walk, bend, and stoop and stand on a routine basis.
    Duties may involve working both indoors and outdoors.

    Must possess a High School Diploma or GED. Education must be stated on your application.

    For Skill Level 3 and Target Level 4 education (transcripts) must be submitted with application.

    Conditions of employment:

    7.  Must be flexible and available to work the hours from 5:45 am - 5:45 pm (in various shifts).
