Explore the opportunities.Position/Title: Renewable Funding Compliance InspectorFSLA Status: TBDDepartment: Institute for Building Technology and SafetyReports To: IBTS Energy Services Task Manager GENERAL DESCRIPTION Renewable Funding Compliance Inspector performs quality assurance inspection services and reporting of residential and commercial system installations to ensure compliance with Property Assessed Clean Energy (PACE) programs eligibility criteria. Inspectors identify and report if program specified items are installed and operating correctly and meet program eligibility requirements. A person in this position is expected to demonstrate (a) expertise in quality assurance systems, with a strong knowledge of energy conservation and general industry construction; (b) knowledge as to the application of corresponding building, electrical and fire codes; (c) the ability to work effectively with a diverse group of stakeholders, and the ability to successfully complete projects on time and within budget. SUPERVISION RECEIVED/EXERCISED Receives general direction from the IBTS Task Manager - Energy Services ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Schedule and perform Renewable Funding compliance inspections as assigned by IBTSEnsure that inspections are performed within turnaround times as determined by IBTS.Perform quality assurance inspections/audits of new residential and commercial energy efficient product installations.Inspect properties and materials for compliance with program eligibility criteria, specifications, and manufacturers' requirements.Document the audit with photos and specific areas which have noted deficiencies and require corrective action. Complete applicable inspection forms and submit along with photos within 3 days of completed inspection.Maintain updated knowledge of residential and commercial energy conservation standards, installation instructions and other documents as deemed appropriate for the work. Must stay continually educated in energy product changes and code requirements.Participate in training as provided or directed by IBTS to educate inspectors on expectations to perform assignments. Obtain and maintain certifications/licenses as offered by IBTS.WORKING CONDITIONS Most of the work will be performed in the field on residential/commercial construction jobsites and some work in the office and as such the following working conditions apply: Position requires sitting, standing, walking on un-level and slippery surfaces including pitched roofs, climbing ladders, accessing confined spaces such as attics and crawl spaces, reaching, twisting, turning, kneeling, bending, stooping, squatting, crouching, grasping, crawling and making repetitive hand movements in the performance of daily activities.Significant local travel on daily inspection routes anticipated. GENERAL REQUIREMENTS Must have a valid Driver's License and vehicle transportationExcellent organizational skills Own digital camera and PC computer with internet accessPrior general construction experienceKnowledge of building codes, standards, and trade practices.Ability to communicate effectively with homeowners, business owners and PV installation contractors.Maintain relevant certifications and licenses for carrying out assigned tasksWorking knowledge of reading plans, specifications and product manufacturers' installation instructionsEDUCATION REQUIREMENTS High school diploma or equivalent requiredConstruction and/or inspection experience required (or equivalent experience)Knowledge or OSHA 10-hour certification training desiredMicrosoft Office experience required
