Associate Engineer, Systems
Designs and defines system architecture for new or existing computer systems. General Dynamics Information Technology (GDIT) is searching for an Associate Systems Engineer. Individual will work with the Systems Engineering group as subject matter experts for hardware, software requirements, and design for a Computerized Maintenance Management System being developed in Montgomery. Duties include: interacting with customers to assist the install of IBM Maximo Products, performing Maximo installations on new or existing hardware at customer sites, assisting in troubleshooting customer Maximo environments, determining hardware and often software requirements for new program installations, and administering and maintain Government Furnished Equipment (GFE) hardware instances at GDIT Montgomery. Additional duties include maintaining backups and updating software on GDIT Maximo development environments. Knowledge of WebSphere, VMWare, Windows 2012, UNIX, Visual Studio, or Oracle are a plus. This position will require some travel. 1. Performs basic systems development and design work that may include logic design, I/O design, firmware development, model formulation, computer architecture analysis and design, and analog or digital systems engineering. 2. Performs systems modeling, simulation, and analysis. 3. Participates in the upgrading of operating systems. 4. Provides input for documentation on new or existing systems. 5. Performs testing to ensure systems meet documented user requirements. 6. Provides technical support, diagnoses and resolves operating/hardware system problems. 7. Provides assistance to higher-level systems engineers. 8. Maintains current knowledge of relevant technology as assigned. 9. Participates in special projects as required. Education Bachelors Degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related technical discipline, or the equivalent combination of education, technical training, or work/military experience. Secret Security Clearance required. Qualifications 0-2 years of related systems engineering experience.
