Convergence Center for Policy Resolution seeks a Development and Communications Intern. The focus of the internship will be assisting the fund development team with fundraising efforts and supporting the communications team. The intern will report to both the Director of Operations and the Director of Communications.

The Development and Communications Intern will have the opportunity to contribute to both teams in the following ways:

Fund Development Duties:
- Conduct background research on potential donors (individuals, foundations, and corporations)
- Assist in drafting donor communications
- Enter and update information in Convergence's fundraising database
- Organize materials for fundraising events, meetings, and trips

Communications Duties:
- Assist in drafting draft press releases, newsletters, and updates
- Help develop press and VIP lists
- Help update the Convergence website
- Help manage and grow Convergence's social media presence on Twitter, LinkedIn, and Facebook

Additional Duties:
- Help organize Board and Leadership Council meetings
- Support senior staff at internal and external meetings
- Take part in weekly staff meetings
- Provide some general administrative support on occasion
- Take notes at internal and external meetings and draft follow up lists

The experience at Convergence will:

- Cultivate a deeper awareness of self, skills, and interests
- Provide the opportunity to be creative and entrepreneurial regarding the work and experience at Convergence

Qualifications:
- Be working on or have completed a college degree or higher
- Be able to commit to at least 20 hours per week for one semester (preference will be given to those who are able to commit more time)
- Demonstrated experience with social media
- Have excellent interpersonal skills
- Work well on individual or team projects
- Be flexible and proactive with regard to work assignments
- Display a high command of written and spoken English
- Pay attention to detail
- Be fluent with Microsoft Office, Google Apps, and online communication (as well as comfortable learning new software and systems)
- Prior experience with prospect research is desirable
