Requirements

Financial / Department Administrator, Department of Spanish & Portuguese - Georgetown College

The Financial / Department Administrator provides management and administrative support to the department, acting on behalf of the chair and serving as liaison to faculty, staff and students in a large and busy academic department

  • Serves as the primary source of financial and personnel support to for the chair and holds direct responsibility for the overall financial operations of the department.
  • Serves a key resource for the interpretation and implementation of financial  policies and procedures
  • Provides support in transacting business within the institution.
  • Assumes substantial independent management of department finances - to include all staffing and payroll processes within the department; working closely with student employment, the graduate school, human resources, and the Provost's office; and assisting the Chair in the preparation and implementation of annual budgets.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree - preference for degree in Administration, accounting or related field
  • At least 2 years' experience in office management and/or financial management - preferably in an academic setting
  • Excellent organizational skills Strong MSOffice suite skills

Preferred qualifications

  • Familiarity with Banner and Cognos
  • Familiarity with Workday (GMS)
  • A working knowledge of Spanish and/or Portuguese

Salary range is $49,000 - $52,000.
