Sr. System Administrator at Ft. Meade, MD

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Installing, upgrading, and patching virtual and physical servers. Identifying and implementing enhancements to improve availability, reliability, and performance. Configuring and troubleshooting security groups; permissions; and settings. Requires Strong working knowledge of Windows Server; DNS and Active Directory

Additionally, the following will be performed
1. Manages the functionality and efficiency of a group of computers running on one or more operating systems including Windows Server, VMWare ESXI Server, and Windows 7/10.
2. Maintains the integrity and security of servers and systems including file servers, backup servers and print servers
3. Sets up admini strator and service accounts.
4. Maintains system documentation
5. Interacts with users and evaluates vendor products.
6. Makes recommendations to purchase hardware and software, coordinates installation and provides backup recovery.
7. Develops and monitors policies and standards for allocation related to the use of computing resources.
8. May program in an administrative language including Powershell scripting.
9. interfaces, corresponds with and submits trouble tickets to higher headquarters for Domain configurations.
10. Provides advice and training to end-users.
11. Provides guidance and work leadership to less-experienced staff members.
12. Maintains current knowledge of relevant technologies as assigned.
13. Participates in special projects as required.
14. Additional duties can include Data Transfer Agent, Depo Administrator, iPhone and iPad configuration.

Qualifications
* 5-8 years of directly related experience in systems administration and analysis.

* Bachelors Degree in Computer Science or a related technical discipline, or the equivalent combination of education, technical certifications or training, or work experience.
* Requires COMPTIA Security + CE or GFL or equivalant/higher.
* Requires computing environment certificate in Window Server 2008 R2/2012 R2 MCTS with goal of receiving MCSA.
*  Must have strong understading of Active Directory, DNS and File Permissions
