Position Summary:

The Manger, Corporate Events supports AIA’s Corporate Events division and reports to the Assistant Vice President, Corporate Events and the Office of the President. The candidate is responsible for unifying the strategic priorities of AIA’s five policy divisions with the Association’s corporate-level events. This mission is achieved through the implementation and maintenance of management tools such as strategic planning calendars and collaboration WordPress microsites. The position has dual components including the coordination and support of various corporate meetings, operational planning and staff coordination.

Core Duties and Responsibilities:

Corporate Events

  • Track member company registration at AIA corporate events
  • Support and track AIA policy VP outreach to member companies
  • Manage AIA’s mobile app for corporate events, the “AIA Aerospace Events App”
  • Ensure successful execution of trade shows, Board of Governors and Supplier Management Council meetings by maintaining staff collaboration resources on WordPress microsites
  • Manage the Events page of the AIA website and draft recap reports of past events
  • Manage outsourced designer to draft print program guides for select corporate events
  • Support onsite logistics

  Operations and Staff Coordination

  • Prepare and present all briefing materials for meetings of AIA’s Executive Committee, Board of Governors, and Washington Representatives
  • Streamline, standardize and implement procedures and management tools to create consistent and dependable execution of key organization meetings and activities
  • Support development of policy division action plans and track schedules to ensure progress on key issues
  • Coordinate AIA’s corporate events calendar and work to de-conflict AIA’s events with internal and external meetings to achieve successful implementation and participation

Qualifications and Preferred Experience:

  • One to three years of experience as a project manager
  • Experience working in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
  • Strong interpersonal skills, an ability to deconflict competing priorities and personalities
  • Strong computer skills, specifically experience creating and working with WordPress websites
