DCS Corp is looking for a creative, dynamic Systems Engineer to provide on-site support to an Army Program Management Office at Fort Belvoir, VA for system life-cycle management, technical, and acquisition support of software based systems utilizing electro-optical, thermal, acoustic, and radar sensor technology.

This position requires an individual who thrives in a highly collaborative, highly interactive environment to become a broker of information as well develop and validate requirements for a software centric program of record which will integrate multiple software products from different software developers/vendors, into a single software package.

Essential Job Functions:

Communicating with technical engineering managers, system/software architects, software developers, and non-technical program managers, end users, and military leadership.

Responsible for the development, management, and review of DoD Systems Engineering Documentation including the Performance Specification (P-SPEC), Software Development Plan (SDP) System/Subsystem Design Description (SSDD), Software Requirements Specification (SRS), Cyber Security Strategy, Requirements Traceability Matrix (RTM), Requirements Verification Matrix (RVM).

Provide technical reviews of software developer/vendor documents, including Systems Engineering Management Plan (SEMP), SDP, Configuration Management (CM) Plan, and other deliverables as requested.
Conduct periodic reviews including System Requirements Reviews (SRR), System Functional Reviews (SFR), Software Specification Reviews (SSR), Production Design Reviews (PDR), Critical Design Reviews (CDR), to maintain complete control over the entire software development process as well as report status to non-technical leadership.

Requirement development process utilizing tools such as IBM Rational Doors to communicate, trace, track, and develop requirement baselines though multiple builds of the software development process.

Must possess an active DoD Secret clearance.

Bachelor's Engineering degree paired with eight (8) or more years of relevant experience, or Master's Engineering degree paired with six (6) or more years of relevant experience.

At least 2 years of experience in a technical role.

Proficient in communicating with technical engineering managers, system/software architects, software developers, and non-technical program managers, end users, and military leadership.

Proficient in the requirement development process utilizing tools such as IBM Rational Doors to communicate, trace, track, and develop requirement baselines though multiple builds of the software development process.

Knowledge of the DOD acquisition process/DAU coursework

Experience and proficiency with IBM Rational Doors

Proficient in Microsoft Office
