Career Transition Specialist
Cornerstone Montgomery is an independent, nonsectarian, nonprofit 501(c) e organization that has the capacity to serve more than 2,200 adults and transition age youth. Cornerstone Montgomery specializes in the provision of comprehensive, community-and evidence-based, mental health and co-occurring mental health and substance use disorder treatments and interventions.
Our award winning Career Transition Program assists individuals ages 16 and above reach their educational and employment goals by offering a unique combination of Mental Health and Career/Vocational Services.
We are currently seeking a Career Transition Specialist to join our Career Transition Program.
Position Summary: Conduct skills assessment in the areas of work, independent living, family and social skills. Coordinate and advocate with community service providers, schools and families for necessary supports for a successful transition. Provide individualized assistance in identifying transition, career and/or educational goals which include the following: Career Education and Career Development, College or Vocational Education, Development and Placement, Family Support Services, Identification of Supplementary Service Needs and linkage to Community Resources.
To qualify for this position, a candidate must have a Bachelor's degree in Psychology or in a related field such as Family Studies, Education, or Social Work, as well as previous experience working with youth/young adults. Full access to a vehicle with no more than 2 negative points on your driving record and be able to pass a criminal background check
