Performs installation, maintenance and repair of telecommunications systems.

 • Install and work in manholes and conduit ducting systems
• Install, pull, and test fiber optic, copper, and coaxial cabling
• Terminate, splice, test, maintain, and repair fiber optic (including fusion splicing), copper, and coaxial cabling
• Install interior premise wiring; fiber, copper, and coaxial cabling
• Install fiber optic modems, multiplex equipment, patch panels, main and intermediate distribution frames, lightning protection, and supporting ground and power connections
• Install cabinets, cable ladder and rack systems, and equipment components in cabinet
• Operate heavy equipment to include: cable reel trucks, trenchers, backhoes, chiselers, bobcat, 20k all-terrain forklift
• Provide access to buried communication cable and digging/chiseling trenches
• Locate cables and provide inputs to digging permits as required

 1. Performs routine tasks involved in the installation, maintenance and repair of voice, data and wireless communications systems.

 2. Participates in the maintenance of telecommunications equipment and the installation, rearrangement, and removal of equipment and associated wiring.

 3. Participates in the testing, location, and repair of equipment problems associated with trouble calls and performs routine maintenance.

 4. Maintains current knowledge of relevant technologies as assigned.

 5. Participates in special projects as required.

Education Associates Degree in a related technical discipline, or the equivalent combination of education, technical training or work experience.

Qualifications 0-1 years of related telecommunications experience.
