GENERAL SUMMARY Submit requests for prior authorization, helps identify and coordinate prescriptions, and tracks patients for a specialty pharmacy. Provides a variety of clerical support for the pharmacy. Collaborates with a variety of providers utilizing the services of the pharmacy. Helps to engage and retain patients in order to achieve optimum treatment. MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS EDUCATION: High school degree or GED diploma is required. May require up to 1 year of technical or other specialized training. Requires the ability to read and write, and knowledge of grammar and arithmetic, including fractions and decimals. May require the use of standard office/medical equipment (i.e., typewriter, personal computer, data terminal, on-line printer, calculator, telephone, facsimile, copier and sterilizing equipment); the preparation, comparison, or checking of reports, records, and related data; and basic use of formulas, charts, tables, drawings and knowledge of their application. Required Certification, Registration with District of Columbia Department of Health and Licensure/Certification by the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) is required.
