Job summary

The controller/CFO is responsible for oversight of all finance and accounting of the organization. The candidate must understand Generally Accepted Accounting Principles, possess strong organizational skills and be a self-starter.

Primary responsibilities:               

  • Prepare monthly billings, collections and other management reports;
  • Process accounts payables and accounts receivables;
  • Complete scheduled check runs;
  • Reconcile daily cash receipts;
  • Review and evaluate time and cost entries;
  • Provide effective cash management;
  • Maintain Trust accounts;
  • Develop internal control policies, guidelines and procedures;
  • Prepare monthly financial reports with a strong ability to interpret the results to management;
  • Oversee/prepare monthly/quarterly reconciliations (balance sheet and profit and loss);
  • Develop and implement monthly closing procedures;
  • Prepare monthly journal entries;
  • Assist in the preparation and filing of annual business returns;
  • Possess a sharp eye for details;
  • Organize and maintain filing of physical and electronic documents;
  • Exude an overall positive, curious, and enthusiastic attitude.


  • At least 5 years of accounting experience, professional services experience is preferred;
  • Experience with both ProLaw and Elite preferred;
  • Must be proficient with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word and Outlook)
