Performs technical tasks towards the development or testing of machinery and equipment.

  

 
    Installing targets, troubleshooting, and performing target repair for all AWTC ranges and training areas including an instrumented 800 KD range, a combat mobility target range, a light demolitions range, and associated target and instrumentation requirements for the AWTC urban training areas to ensure compliance with Fort A.P. Hill (FAPH) Range operation restrictions. Inspecting, identifying, reporting, and repairing electrical target malfunctions and supporting IT target systems problems on all AWTC ranges and training areas including vertical panel targets, sniper targets, paper targets, and assembly of 175 cardboard targets (stick and silhouette). Interpreting electrical ladder diagrams and troubleshooting 480v high voltage equipment and related electrical issues. Visually examining and conducting operational tests to determine the need for, and the performance of maintenance and related repair work including roofing, asphalt, plumbing, painting, carpentry, cement work, and related landscaping duties for the surrounding range area.
 

 

Education Associates Degree in a related technical discipline, or the equivalent combination of education, technical training or work experience.

Qualifications 3-5 years of related experience fabricating, maintaining and repairing mechanical components.

 

Possess and maintain a valid State of Virginia Master’s electrician license and state driver’s license (operator’s license), at the Contractor’s expense. Although not a requirement, additional certifications and licenses, to include Master Plumbers, HVAC, and Commercial Driver’s License, are considered are a plus.
