Summary
The MIL Corporation seeks a Sr. Systems Engineer to support a Federal Government client at our St. Inigoes, Maryland location. The Sr. Systems Engineer will apply systems engineering principles to investigate, analyze, plan, design, develop, implement, test, and/or evaluate Mobile or Tower based sensor systems (cameras, radars, Laser Illuminators).

Responsibilities
• Responsible for research, design, development, and testing of system components/equipment/subsystems
• Apply systems engineering principles, and review and prepare engineering and technical analyses reports, change proposals, systems specifications, test procedures, planning documents, operational concepts, and other technical documentation associated with initiating an In Service Engineering Activity for these systems
• Apply engineering experience to perform functions such as system installation/integration, configuration management, quality assurance testing, or acquisition and resource management in gaining approval for engineering changes to tower systems
• Develop technical solutions to problems, implement enhancements and upgrade system architectures
• Supervise and mentor junior engineering staff

Required Qualifications
• BS degree in Engineering, Physics, Computer science, Mathematics, or Computer Information Systems
• 10 years of systems engineering experience
• Ability to apply fundamental knowledge of engineering and mathematics to analyze, design and develop system architectures and integrate subsystems
• Perform system requirements definition, system analysis and design, develop technical solutions, perform system functional analysis, and conduct trade studies
• Develop engineering drawings such as Cable Block Diagrams and Cable Running Sheets, Rack Arrangements and Assemblies, and Fabrication drawings
• Possess the following:
o Solid working knowledge of system engineering and system architecture principles
o Understanding of MIL-STD and ASME standards
o Knowledge of communication systems, sensor systems, LAN/WAN network architecture, network topology and protocols, network cabling, and interfaces
o Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
o Problem solving ability
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
• Some travel may be required
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Self-motivated

Desired Qualifications
• Experience with providing insight to project engineers and team members for document resolution and update procedures
• Ability to perform other support activities to address specific requirements, project support and emerging technology upgrades
• Ability to work with project teams to define, analyze and meet customer needs
• Experience providing systems engineering and technical support for system architectures
• Ability to work with little (threshold) or no supervision (objective)
• Ability to work in an interrupt-driven environment, managing multiple tasks simultaneously
• Desire to stay current in technologies and technology applications
• CISSP, CCNP, CCDP, PMP, CSEP, ESEP certifications
• 15 Years of Systems Engineer experience
• Top Secret or Top Secret SCI clearance
