GEICO's Medical Management team supports GEICO's internal claims adjusting staff in the review of 1st party medical claims sustained in motor vehicle accidents.
Job Duties & Responsibilities: We are looking for a Certified Nurse Coder or Certified Coder to be part of an exciting group focused on Medical Bill Review in GEICO's Claims Home Office.
As a Certified Nurse or Certified Coder you will:
• Participate in the creation of test plans that will be executed by peer level team members to ensure outside bill review vendor practices or planned changes produce appropriate outcomes.
• Review and validate outside bill review vendor test plans for accuracy and state/national compliance.
• Review and comment on bill review change requests submitted by internal customers to insure change requests follow medical billing/coding best practices consistent with state and national guidelines.
• Reach out to individual regional customers to identify trends and opportunities in CPT coding.
• Assist with the research and analysis of published ICD-9/10 and CPT code changes with the goal of:
     -Assessing compliance
     -Documenting impact on organization
     -Providing recommendations for bill review to management and/or bill review vendor.
Qualifications or Accreditations:
• CPC accreditation/certification through AHIMA or AAPC or equivalent organization
• Details of accreditation/certification/core proficiencies must be submitted with resume
• Must be familiar with Medicare /NCCI coding.
