Job Description  

GEICO seeks bright, driven accounting majors to join our team as a Corporate Accounting Intern for the Summer of 2017. In this program you will be exposed to various areas of accounting to include Statutory Accounting, Internal Audit, GAAP and/or the Corporate Planning Department. Selected students will learn various aspects of GEICO's accounting practices and contribute to the bottom line. Interest and skill set will determine what area best suits the student for this program.

Program Responsibilities

• Closely working with GEICO's internal audit team on internal control testing for the current calendar year
• Work in Statutory Accounting or GAAP on closing quarterly financial statements
• Work in Corporate Planning on financial analysis and management reporting

Candidate Qualifications
• Active pursuit of bachelor's degree in accounting
• Must have cumulative GPA of 3.5 in all schools attended and 4.0 GPA in Accounting highly preferred
• Students must be on course to have 150 Accounting credits by an anticipated graduation date of December 2017 or May of 2018
• Intent to pursue CPA
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
• Effective written and verbal communication skills
