Advanced knowledge of Cisco routers, Cisco ACE Appliance, Cisco Nexus switches and UCS, associated terminals, and related network hardware and software.

 

Experience administering and supporting Remote Access (SSL and IPSec) VPNs for multiple customers.

 

Advance knowledge of Cisco and Fortinet firewalls.

 

May require professional certification in one or more specific technologies, depending on job assignment.

 

Understanding of Network Virtualization, particularly with the Nexus Unified Switching Fabric and virtual firewalls (ASA Security Contexts).

 

Support of network environments includes management of network and security system resources; risk management, security compliance, patching, upgrades, multivendor firewalls, routers, switches, load balancers; network design and architecture problem analysis; network troubleshooting and network maintenance, measured against internal and external customer SLAs.

 

Provide daily support and accept accountability for the performance and reliability of various cross-platform applications and services, and ensure that system failures are restored in a timely manner, measured against SLAs.

 

Be able to work independently and come up to speed quickly on new technologies

 

Drives efficiencies and projects cross functionally. Will manage multiple highly complex projects.

 

Provides root-cause analysis, contributes to the knowledge base, and provides recommendations for continuous improvements to workflow, process, resiliency, cost structure, and technology.

 

Participate in the maintenance of network configuration documentation, documentation on maintenance, as well as standard operating procedures that pertain to network engineering.

 

Participate in on-call rotation to provide after hours support

 

Plans network layouts and configures systems to user environments.

 

Analyzes network topologies and traffic and capacity requirements.

 

Supports the acquisition of hardware and software as well as subcontractor services as needed.

 

May provide technical support and troubleshooting to users.

 

May perform network administration duties.

 

Provides guidance and work leadership to less-experienced network personnel and may have supervisory responsibilities.

May serve as technical team or task leader.

 

 

 

Education Bachelors Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical discipline, or the equivalent combination of education, technical certifications or training, or work experience.

Qualifications 8-10 years of directly related experience in network analysis and design.
