As a Scientist you will be working to design, build, test, and maintain the Command, Control, Communications, Computers, Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance systems that provide the Sailors and Marines with the capabilities they need to complete their missions and return home safely.
Note: This flyer is soliciting candidates to fill Scientist (1550), positions in SPAWAR's Science and Technology Reinvention Laboratory (STRL) using Department of Defense (DOD) STRL Direct Hire Authorities.

You must meet all applicable Basic Educations Requirements, Professional Scientific Knowledge/Experience and Selective Placement Factor requirements that may apply to the specific positions listed within this Flyer. The minimum qualification requirements depend on the position being filled.
Basic Qualification Requirements: Scientist (1550):
Apply the theoretical foundations of computer science, including computer system architecture and system software organization, the representation and transformation of information structures, and the theoretical models for such representations and transformations.
Professional Specialized Knowledge/Experience
For the ND-03 pay band: In addition to the successful completion of an accredited master's or higher degree with directly related to the curriculum, the selectee must possess the specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level/pay band (ND-02) that has equipped you with the knowledge, skills, abilities, and/or competencies required to satisfactorily perform ND-03 work.
For the ND-04 pay band: In addition to the successful completion of an accredited Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree with directly related to the curriculum, the selectee must possess the specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level/pay band (ND-03) that has equipped you with the knowledge, skills, abilities, and/or competencies required to satisfactorily perform ND-04 work.
Selective Placement Factor
These positions has a Selective Placement Factor (SPF) that must be met in order to qualify. The SPF for each series is listed below. Possession of the SPF must be verifiable via your transcript.
Scientist (1550): A master's or higher degree from an accredited college or university in a field of computer science.

This position is covered under the Defense Acquisition Workforce Improvement Act (DAWIA) and requires additional education, training and experience.
