Typical responsibilities for this position include installation and servicing of multiple sites in and around the D.C. area, as well as administration and engineering Enterprise Level Solutions for LAN, WAN, VOIP, and Systems/Network infrastructures.



As a Network Engineer you will design and install network systems equipment in remote locations. Responsible for analyzing, designing, installing, configuring and troubleshooting network infrastructure and devices. Conduct technology assessments, throughput analysis, problem solving, and infrastructure planning. Responsible for identifying transport / network requirements to extend services and engineering/designing the network segment, configuring WAN / LAN devices and ensuring Quality of Service metrics are instituted. Responsible for diagnosing and resolving critical platform technical issues. Function as a liaison between the end user/customer and Enterprise Engineers for capacity planning and engineering. Requires strong analytical abilities and experience with networking technologies like TCP/IP, VPN, VLAN, and Multicast


Includes regular local travel via government vehicle. Work also includes planning and coordinating installs of end user equipment (computer) and related equipment and technologies. Provide support for information systems and network systems in remote locations, as well as local support. Works with other systems and network professionals as required to coordinate efforts, and resolve cross-team issues and communicate changes. Conducts site surveys in remote locations to facilitate the installation of information and network systems. Local travel 3-4 times per week; with government vehicle.

Education Bachelors Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical discipline, or the equivalent combination of education, technical certifications or training, or work experience.

Qualifications 2-5 years of directly related experience in network analysis and design.
