JOB SUMMARY:

About the Agency

The Information Technology (IT) Division is responsible for the planning, development and management of the information technology systems and subsystems that support District of Columbia Courts case flow, office automation, special programs, and management operations. The IT Division designs and administers system configuration and architecture.

The Systems Administrator (Virtualization) is responsible for supporting a complex enterprise-wide environment specifically Microsoft Server 2012 and Microsoft Server 2016, Hyper-V and Citrix Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI). The incumbent is responsible for the installing, testing, system security configuration and monitoring, operating, troubleshooting and maintaining server hardware and software. The position will also serve as a member of a team of system administrators.

The incumbent will be expected to provide on-call support for critical systems on a shift rotation basis and, where necessary, work the occasional weekend/evening to perform maintenance, upgrades, and repairs or troubleshooting.

KEY REQUIREMENTS:
  • A probationary period of one (1) year must be successfully completed.
  • Background and security investigation are required.
  • MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related field, or equivalent practical professional experience plus five (5) years of experience installing, configuring and managing Windows servers and Active Directory in areas such as user account administration, backup/restore, server and desktop virtualization, DHCP, DNS, Microsoft Exchange, Office 365, Failover clustering and security patching.

    In depth knowledge of administering Microsoft Active Directory, 2008/2012/2016 and Group Policy Objects as well as how they impact VDI is required.

    Hands on experience implementing Citrix VDI solutions using Citrix XenDesktop 7.6 or higher, XenApp, Provisioning vDisks, StoreFront, Netscaler and Wyse terminals are required.

    Desired Certifications:

    Microsoft Certified Solutions Associate (MCSA), Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer(MCSE) certification for Windows 2012 or higher.

    Citrix Certified Associate - Virtualization (CCA - V), CCA-P 7.6 or higher, CCA-N.

    In addition to meeting specialized experience, applicants must also show proficiency in 1) attention to detail, 2) customer service, 3) oral communication, and 4) problem solving.
