The Development Coordinator, NSO National Trustees & Circles, will work with the Assistant Manager of Development, NSO National Trustees & Circles and the Manager of NSO Individual Giving in the management and long-term development of the NSO National Trustees Campaign (donors $10,000+) and Circles Campaign (donors $1,200—$11,999), including research, cultivation, acquisition, stewardship, and ongoing maintenance for both restricted and unrestricted contributions.  The incumbent facilitates all aspects of the renewal cycle, including solicitations, gift entry, and acknowledgments, while also striving to build the Circles campaign through targeted and systematized prospecting. 

The Development Coordinator must be able to exercise discretion in order to prioritize assignments and work under significant pressure, as many projects are time sensitive, involving concurrent deadlines and donor interaction. Demonstrates ability to plan, organize, and manage time and projects for maximum productivity. An eagerness to communicate and problem solve with a positive attitude is essential.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITY:

70%    Fundraising for NSO Circles Campaign

Assist in the management of the NSO Circles Campaign ($650,000 goal), including:

  • Managing and implementing all phases of the monthly renewal cycle;
  • Organizing, developing, and executing timely and accurate types of correspondence (solicitations, acknowledgements, notes, research briefings, proposals, tax receipts, membership cards, etc.) of varying length and complexity for over 300 donors;
  • Completing timely gift entry forms and ensuring accuracy of all billing and contributions;
  • Maintaining accurate donor records in hardcopy and electronic formats and in Tessitura;
  • Actively stewarding donors through direct contact via telephone, email, and personal visitation on- and off-site;
  • Identifying potential gift increases and, in coordination with the Assistant Manager of NSO National Trustees & Circles and the Manager of NSO Individual Giving, creating detailed and personalized solicitation strategies;
  • Accurately tracking progress and ensuring completion of action items from initial discovery through acquisition;
  • Maintaining ongoing campaign progress reports and regular reviews with the Assistant Manager of NSO National Trustees & Circles and Manager of NSO Individual Giving;
  • Managing systems to ensure donor recognition in print and online materials, involvement in ancillary activities and events, general benefit fulfillment, and accurate and timely renewal of gifts;
  • Processing all NSO Circles invoices/purchase orders as necessary;
  • Planning and execute donor benefit, cultivation, and auxiliary events including President- and Chairman-hosted events:
  • Managing guest lists, invitations, catering, budget, and overall logistics both independently and with other Development or Special Events staff as needed;
  • Managing list pulls and data tracking from Tessitura to target specific demographic segments;
  • Coordinating schedules with NSO senior staff, artistic personnel, and artists;
  • Coordinating and executing appropriate follow-up, including direct mail solicitation after acquisition events.

30%    Fundraising for NSO National Trustees Campaign

Assist in the management of all fundraising aspects of the NSO National Trustees Campaign  ($425,000 goal) including:

  • Organizing and executing timely and accurate types of correspondence (solicitations, acknowledgements, notes, research briefings, proposals, tax receipts, membership cards, etc.) of varying length and complexity for 40 donors;
  • Completing timely gift entry forms and ensuring accuracy of all billing and contributions;
  • Maintaining accurate donor records in hardcopy and electronic formats and in Tessitura;
  • Actively stewarding donors through direct contact via telephone, email, and personal visitation on- and off-site;
  • Assisting in planning and executing NSO National Trustee events and meetings held locally in Washington DC as well as locations nationwide with the Assistant Manager of NSO National Trustees & Circles, the Manager of NSO Individual Giving, and Special Events staff;
  • Processing all NSO National Trustee invoices/purchase orders as necessary;

Education/Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree required, advanced degree in a related field preferred
  • Two years development or related experience required
  • Working knowledge of the performing arts is preferred
