We are currently seeking a Resident Billing Associate to work in the Accounts Receivable Department in our International Headquarters in McLean, VA. The selected candidate’s main responsibilities will be to support an assigned number of Business Office Coordinators (BOC). BOC’s oversee the business offices located within the Sunrise Communities, and their main duties include functions such as billing, payroll, and HR.

The Resident Billing Coach’s role is to support the BOC’s billing duties as well as cover the billing processing in the absence of a BOC at one of their assigned communities.
RESPONSIBILITIES & QUALIFICATIONS

Responsibilities will include ongoing training and coaching, conducting periodic audits of billing activity and supporting paperwork to ensure adherence to corporate billing policies.

Additional responsibilities include responding to questions from other community and field managers regarding resident statements, payments, month-end revenue and census results.

Candidates must have excellent communication and organizational skills, be able to manage a busy workload and balance multiple tasks and deadlines.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
  • 3+ years of billing/accounts receivable experience
  • Experience using computerized billing software preferred; software experience specific to the healthcare industry would be a plus (doctor office, long term care, etc.)
  • Minimum of high school diploma, some college preferred
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Ability to enter data into a computer quickly and accurately
  • Excellent organizational skills. Able to manage workflow throughout the month in order to meet our month-end deadlines without direct supervision.
  • Must be analytical. Ability to audit a resident’s account, make any corrections necessary, and prepare a written explanation for the guarantor as to the amount due
  • Excellent communication skills. Ability to provide clear and concise training / instructions when supporting the BOCs in the communities they support or when answering questions regarding a particular resident’s statement or a Sunrise billing policy.
  • Good writing skills. Must be able to author well written email messages and contribute to the updating of any billing related training materials for the BOC’s and other field team members.
  • Must be deadline oriented. We have weekly and monthly department deadlines which can only be accomplished if team members meet individual deadlines.
  • Able to work as a team. Must work with the communities and other headquarters’ staff members in a professional and respectful manner in order to maximize the effectiveness of our processing department.
  • Experience with Microsoft Windows, Excel, and Word with the ability to use the basic functions of each package.
