Integration Systems Engineer - RHEL TS/SCI Clearance Required
Designs and defines system architecture for new or existing computer systems. 1. Performs complex systems development and design work that may include logic design; I/O design; firmware development; model formulation; manufacturing and development cost projections; computer architecture analysis and design; and analog or digital systems engineering. 2. Performs systems modeling; simulation; and analysis. 3. Plans upgrades of operating systems and designs systems enhancements. 4. Develops documentation on new or existing systems. 5. Develops and conducts tests to ensure systems meet documented user requirements. 6. Identifies; analyzes; and resolves system problems. 7. Provides system/equipment/specialized training and technical guidance. 8. Determines system specifications; input/output processes; and working parameters for hardware/software compatibility. 9. Provides guidance and work leadership to less-experienced systems engineers and may have supervisory responsibility. 10. May serve as a technical team or task lead. 11. Serves as liaison with clients; participating in meetings to ensure client needs are met. 12. Maintains current knowledge of relevant technology as assigned. 13. Participates in special projects as required. GDIT is seeking candidates with experience supporting management information systems bases in a variety of heterogeneous technologies; primarily Microsoft Windows and Red Hat Linux. Ideal candidates will have previous experience supporting large networks and have experience with the engineering lifecycle required to maintain and update networks of this nature. Knowledge and skill of the following technology would be beneficial: Microsoft Active Directory (Server 2008; Server 2012); Red Hat Linux 6.x/7.x; Satellite Server; Citrix XenApp; Citrix XenDesktop; VDI platforms; Storage Platforms; Virtualization Hypervisors (VMware/Microsoft); Amazon Web Services. Education 1. Bachelors Degree in Computer Science; Engineering or a related technical discipline; or the equivalent combination of education; technical training; or work/military experience. 2. Masters Degree preferred. Qualifications 10-15 years of related systems engineering experience.
- The engineer will be responsible for engineering changes to our Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) baselines, RHEL 6 and RHEL 7, Server, Workstation and Desktop, Responsible for hardened RHEL builds, using Open SCAP, Disa SCAP scanners, and ACAS to identify vulnerabilities, research and validate the security technical controls required to mitigate the vulnerabilities, and scripting the changes to RHEL baselines. They will be responsible for customizing RHEL baselines to remove unneeded services/RPMs, and customizing to support specific hardware platforms, to include support for multiple NVIDIA graphics cards within GNOME and KDE graphical interfaces.They will be responsible for engineering, testing and deploying solutions for a geographical dispersed Red Hat Satellite 6.X service, to include solutions for Satellite provisioning services, Katello and Puppet. They will be responsible for engineering, testing and deploying changes to Satellite provisioning templates.The will be responsible for engineering, testing and deploying solutions for Satellite patching services, to include syncing RH repos and replicating content to offline Satellite/Capsule environments.They will support engineering, testing and deployment of third part application repos, such as Mozilla, Adobe, EPEL, etcThe will be responsible for engineering, testing and deploying solutions for Red Hat Identity Management components, to include RH Enterprise Identity Policy Audit (IPA) 4.XThey will be responsible for developing puppet modules in support of baseline requirements.The will be responsible for troubleshooting application issues, to include browser connectivity issues (Mozilla FireFox, Chrome, Proxy Auto Configuration, WPAD, JAVA, Flash, etc), Xterm and ICA connectivity issues.They will be responsible for engineering, testing and deploying Linux file services in support of a mixed Windows and RHEL desktop environment, which include the use Kerberized NFS4, Windbind, Samba, and CIFS.Experience with integrating RHEL desktops into a Microsoft Active Directory Domain Services (ADDS) environment using RH Enterprise IPA, managing POSIX attributes in AD and replication with the IPA domains.
