Position Purpose:General Summary:

Responsible and accountable for operational management, professional development, quality assessment, and improvement activities of clinical unit. Responsibilities include assessing, planning, initiating, coordinating, monitoring, and evaluating patient care activities of young, middle and older adult patient population, for whom care is provided. Responsible for ensuring unit operates in manner that meets organizational goals and objectives, and meets standards set by regulatory and accrediting agencies. Supports Mission of Trinity Health and Holy Cross Health.

Minimum Licensure & Certification Required (if applicable):

1. Current licensure as Registered Nurse (RN) from Maryland Board of Nursing or Compact State.

2. Specialty or role certification required within six months of hire.

3. Current BLS Healthcare Provider certification from American Heart Association.

Minimum Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Required:

1. Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or related field preferred.

2. Minimum of three (3) years of related clinical experience in acute care setting; minimum of two (2) years of unit-based supervisory experience in acute care setting.

3. Must be capable of:

(a) Assessing current unit activities/problems in clinical setting, evaluating alternative approaches, implementing programs/practices, and evaluating outcomes.

(b) Maintaining effective relationships with peers, other department staff, and physicians.

(c) Effectively managing human, material, capital, and financial resources.

4. English language proficient.

5. Effective communication skills.
