Public Information Specialist
This is a professional position that provides a range of services to the fast-paced Office of Legislative and Public Affairs in the areas of housing policy; legislative and zoning issues; writing policy and position statements; as well as strategic communications. Will track legislative actions at the federal, state and local level; assisting in content development, writing, and editing of Annual Reports, policy messages within Budget documents, and other publications. The successful candidate will develop and coordinate policy materials for HOC programs and properties; develop and maintain strong relationships with county legislative contacts for HOC; assist in the development of messaging and legislative strategy; draft op-eds, letters-to-the-editor, blogs, articles and other policy pieces and assist with getting them placed in relevant publications. Will assist in the development of program advocacy materials based on policy and program priorities, program marketing as well as other communication materials including speeches. Maintain up-to-date inventory of HOC's publications. Will respond to correspondence and requests for material and information.
