The contractor shall design/engineer technical solutions to support a distributed LOGCOM enterprise wide RAC environment. The contractor shall install Oracle Real Application Cluster software and associated components (ex. Grid Control) to work in a distributed or single mode environment. The contractor shall configure Oracle Real Application Cluster Grid Control to work optimally with various application software; business software; Operating Systems and database management systems. Support includes; but is not limited to:

    a) Installing; maintaining and configuring Grid Control across various platforms (Windows; UNIX; Linux; Sun; VMWare)

    b) Engineering/reengineering RAC solutions involving Recovery Manager (RMAN); Real time backups; Data Pumps; Automatic Storage Management (ASM); Grid Computing and other Oracle software/capabilities as required. Installing; configuring; and maintaining Oracle 11g and 12c database

    c) Implementing Oracle Enterprise Manager; Automatic Storage Management (ASM) or other management tools to support monitoring of the RAC Grid Control environment.


  Database and ASM (Automatic Storage Management) problem analysis

  database and ASM performance tuning

  database and grid infrastructure patching

  storage monitoring of ASM and Linux file systems

  fluent with SQL*Plus and PL/SQL

  database monitoring using SQL*Plus and Oracle Enterprise Manager

  solid RAC (Real Application Clusters) experience - install; upgrade; troubleshoot

  solid RMAN (Recovery Manager) experience

  solid Data Pump experience for imports and exports

  ability to follow both written and verbal instructions

    d) Performing analysis to assist in developing the proper RAC & Grid environment; and load testing using tools such as HP Load runner.

    e) Analyzing database and/or system logs to determine the cause of problem(s) and to implement a solution to resolve Grid problem(s) using tools such as Tools for Oracle Developers (TOAD); and CA Erwin.

    f) Interfacing closely with the Enterprise Backup and Recovery Support team such as Allocating/De-allocating data; operating; managing; troubleshooting; and working with the SAN Engineer to ensure that the data is protected; and report on data storage events and conditions to management and/or Enterprise Backup and Recovery; and Data Domain or Net APP.


  g) Familiar with the Linux operating system as it pertains to database administration. Ability to work with Windows and Linux System Administrators

    h) Familiar with ssh (secure shell)

    i) Ability to work with Oracle Support

  search for documents related to SRs

       Education Bachelors Degree in a Computer Science or related technical discipline; or the equivalent combination of education; technical certifications or training; or work experience.

Qualifications 8-10 years of related database analysis and/or administration experience.  Must have active Secret clearance.

    Oracle WebLogic and Application Server experience would be a plus

      Certifications (must be current or be able to obtain within 6 months) Oracle Certified Associate (OCA) or better Security+ ITIL v3 Foundation
