Data Curators are responsible for the review, analysis, quality assurance, documentation and metadata management (data curation) of data holdings in a catalog of mission datasets. The Data Curator is responsible for documenting processes and procedures for data management/data curation activities, as well as correctly attributing data to support the enforcement of discovery and data access rules. Data Curators exemplify a broad knowledge of policies and processes for data management, data sharing, authorization and authentication, and collection management. They possess knowledge of the Extract/Transform/Load (ETL) process and are able to work collaboratively with colleagues and leadership to help facilitate improvements to data curation processes and cataloging capabilities. 1. Register and maintain catalog records that maintain metadata for mission datasets.2. In coordination with customer account managers, assist data owners and data stewards with registration and cataloging of mission data.3. Create and execute bulk data updates to catalog content.4. Generate standard reports and create custom ad hoc reports of catalog content.5. Collaborate with downstream customers of the catalog in order to verify that the data entered or updated within the catalog is updated and replicated accurately within the downstream systems.6. Discover and evaluate new intelligence datasets for inclusion in the catalog.7. Collaborate with data owners to identify data access requirements and ensure dataset records are appropriately attributed in the catalog to support implementation of defined data access rules.8. Collaborate with development and system integration teams to provide input to recommendations for catalog enhancements, including improvements to the automated workflow/processes for cataloging data.9. Obtain insight and understanding of mission partners’ needs to identify opportunities for the catalog and other related data services to support their needs.10. Coordinate Technical Exchange Meetings (TEMs) with customer account managers, systems and software engineers and other technical resources to define and promote a common understanding of catalog requirements, constraints, and solutions from a data curation perspective.11. Manage various activities such as preparing agenda and meeting minutes, following up on actions, providing status, and identifying and/or escalating any data curation issues or concerns to the appropriate leadership.12. Participate in regular team meetings and provide regular, timely, and accurate status updates to leadership staff and team members. Education 1. Bachelor's Degree in a related technical discipline. 2. Master's Degree preferred.#CJP, #DPost Qualifications Required Qualifications:
- 5 years of experience working in the area of data management, including metadata, data registries, and data management plans or data curation.Self-starter with proven initiative and ability to manage a diverse and dynamic work portfolio.Strong critical thinking/analytic skills to process large amounts of information, detect relevant factors, and discern most important elements.Ability to learn and potentially teach computer and web applications related to data management.Ability and desire to learn new skills and stay abreast of development and trends in the data management arena.Ability to negotiate and network across multiple teams to resolve data management issues and provide input to the design of improved data management solutions.Knowledge of, and ability to interpret and apply, relevant laws, policies, and procedures, to include the NARA Records Control Schedules, organization-specific records control schedules, and security regulations and directives relating to classification, declassification, and safeguarding of intelligence information.Undergraduate or Graduate Degree in information/data management business areas such as: information science, computer science, business, or law, or equivalent/relevant work experience.
- Experience working as a member of a team using agile methodology such as SAFe Agile or Lean Agile to plan, track, and manage tasks.Significant knowledge of and exposure to Intelligence Community (IC) elements, functions, requirements, and interrelationships among the IC elements.
