Storage Systems Administrator
Storage Administrator reports directly to the Service Operations Manager while receiving technical guidance and instruction from the Enterprise Storage service cell lead for the installation; upgrade and maintenance of DoD storage systems. Implements storage and architecture designs; plans and solutions provided by the Enterprise Storage Lead or approved vendors. The ideal candidate will quickly understand the architecture and design of complex technology solutions and work with teams around technical problems and issues while resolving incidents via Remedy on a daily basis. Candidate performs infrequent on-call duties. Functional Responsibility: Performs system technical support; maintenance assignments; incident response; change management requests; system upgrades; performance and capacity monitoring; host to SAN connectivity; lun/pool/aggregate/volume/raid group allocation; and hardware installation. Specific Responsibilities: ' maintains storage environment of unified VNX 5500s and two block only VNX 5400s ' provisions new LUNs; Partitions and Volumes ' performs file replication with VNX replicator between geographical locations ' reviews TCNO/IAVA/NOTAM submissions for patching or firmware update requirements ' monitors and administers installed EMC CLARiiON and VNX; fibre channel infrastructure; NetApp FAS and Clustered Data ONTAP (cDOT) and related network connectivity ' implements technical designs and specifications for IT projects and initiatives ' obtains technical support from service cell lead as required Education Bachelors Degree in Computer Science or a related technical discipline; or the equivalent combination of education; technical certifications or training; or work experience. Qualifications 2-5 years of directly related experience in systems administration and analysis. ? SAN/NAS administration and troubleshooting on EMC CLARiiON and VNX ? managing and troubleshooting Cisco MDS/Nexus and Brocade fibre channel switches ?
