Job Purpose
Towson University is currently accepting applications for an Electrical Engineer Project Manager. This position manages campus electrical engineering projects and other construction projects as required. The Electrical Engineer Project Manager requires management of relative campus construction projects from scope development through close out with a project focus on campus infrastructure, distribution, energy, projects; ensures code compliance with university standards and code authorities; supports other Project Managers and their projects for design review. This position may be required to perform electrical inspection of ongoing projects; manage the design and construction of facilities improvement, renovation and Capital projects. Provides construction administration and construction monitoring to ensure that project requirements are being met. Develops and evaluates scope of work for compliance with university design and construction standards. Develops budget estimates for requested renovation and new construction projects.

Description
The Electrical Engineer Project Manager will manage the implementation of campus construction and space alteration projects. This includes managing multiple major Capital construction as well as smaller in house projects. Meeting with Design Consultants to develop detailed specifications and scope for construction projects; provide detailed cost estimates for proposed project; provide working drawings for smaller projects as required. Direct design consultants to develop working construction documents for distribution to contractors. Perform electrical design document review for assigned new and renovation projects. Manage and coordinate Construction Managers, General Contractors and In House trade staff as required for overall project management responsibilities. Develops construction schedules in coordination with academic and administrative schedules required by the university. Oversee daily development of assigned projects including on site management responsibilities; manage project accounting and project updates with Project Summary forms. Provide all communication and coordination relative to project development and completion to end users throughout the duration of the assigned projects. Perform field investigations to determine site conditions relative to proposed projects. Manage multiple projects at once. Provide support to Operation &Maintenance group as required for maintenance related work including archive research and existing conditions evaluations. Coordinate with Planning and end user groups to provide scope development and budget estimates as requested for proposed assigned construction projects; provide sketches/drawings as required for scope development. Advise on schedule and budget constraints; participate in the selection process for in house and UMB on-call and Construction Manager at Risk projects.

Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering and five years of experience documenting and managing electrical construction projects. Candidates must have strong knowledge of design fundamentals and field means and methods of installation; must have excellent writing and verbal communication skills; must have the ability to handle multiple projects at once. Current professional Electrical Engineer license preferred.
