Manager of Enterprise Systems - Financials

Exempt, Regular, Full-Time, Pay Grade 3.5

University of Maryland University College (UMUC) seeks a Manager of Enterprise Systems - Financial in the Office of Finance. Reporting to the Associate Vice President and Comptroller, the Manager of Enterprise Systems - Financial will be responsible for performing analytical and functional tasks related to the post production support of Workday FMS.

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

  • Serves as subject matter expert (SME) for Workday financials (WD); Provides complex problem-solving expertise for user interface issues, technical support and training as needed; Responsible for implementing WD upgrades (e.g., twice per year) and enhancements; Ensures data integrity and creates and manages reports, scheduled and ad hoc, simple, advanced and composite/matrix reports, and BIRTs; Enhance WD business processes (e.g., modify custom validations, condition rules, approvals, etc.), to support ongoing business process changes.
  • Provide routine security administration, troubleshoot security related issues and manage user/role based security groups, domain and business process security policies; Monitor and triage integrations (Core Connectors, Enterprise Interface Builder (EIBs), Workday Studio, etc.) with up/down stream systems; Act as the main point of contact for all Workday Financials technical requests
  • Lead and manage a team of Financial System Analysts and provide training to internal customers. A background in financial systems will allow the incumbent to gather requirements from different stakeholders, propose and document features or enhancements that will help solve challenges, define best practices, and manage workflows more efficiently.
  • This role will require knowledge of Financial systems processes, the ability to document current/future processes, and the ability to communicate and train others on those processes.

REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: The successful candidate will have: A B.S. degree in Business, Information Systems, related area or equivalent from an accredited institution of higher learning; A minimum of five (5) years supervisory experience; Hands-on experience with at least two workday modules (Finance, HR, Payroll, Benefits, etc.); Working knowledge of Workday Integration tools including Workday Studio, EIB's and Core Connectors; Ability to handle multiple projects and multiple team members with confidence in fast paced environment; Ability to handle multiple projects and multiple team members with confidence in fast paced environment. Successful candidate should possess strong functional knowledge of the major modules of PeopleSoft and Workday's higher education financial management software.

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE: Experience preferred in the following areas: Demonstrated experience in configuring and using Workday API's; Workday certification; Course work in Accounting or Finance; Involved in at least one Workday or other ERP implementation
