As a SharePoint Administrator you are a member of an enterprise Portal Services Team while working with a Knowledge Management Team delivering portal services within the ITIL framework. You are responsible for remediating Tier 2-3 escalated SharePoint incidents daily to achieve prescribed Service Level Agreement standards.  You perform SharePoint operations through proactive maintenance and monitoring ensuring SharePoint farm uptime meets or exceeds established Service Level Agreements.  SharePoint Admin conducts on-the-spot backup and restores for databases associated with SharePoint working across an enterprise and diverse customers. The SharePoint Administrator collaborates with the enterprise portal services team to recommend architecture design, hardware, software, and process improvement as required.

The ideal candidate has at least three years of SharePoint administration and backend server administration experience. Candidates must have strong communication skills, and the ability to thrive in a dynamic environment for a Department of Defense customer.

She or he quickly understands the architecture and design of complex technology solutions and works with teams around technical problems and issues while resolving incidents via Remedy on a daily basis. Additionally, you effectively communicate capabilities, concepts, and plans to multiple stake holders whom are technical and non-technical alike.  You perform on-call duties on an in-frequent basis.  Travel is very in-frequent.

Education Bachelors Degree in Computer Science or a related technical discipline, or the equivalent combination of education, technical certifications or training, or work experience.

Qualifications 5-8 years of directly related experience in systems administration and analysis.

Functional Responsibility:

Serves as the local lead for SharePoint farm/environment to include databases, front end and back end servers and administration of a F5 Load Balancer for over 25K geographically dispersed customers.

Specific Responsibilities:

    Manages and ensures the ticket and change request ques to meet Priority Level Designation and Response RequirementsEnsures processes and procedures are improved and documented; performs trend analysis as requiredResponsible for SQL environment, database maintenance, and SQL backupsResponsible for Database Management, Design, Disaster Recovery and Performance Tuning and monitoring
    Participates in daily Change Management and Problem Management calls
    Performs product assessments and serves a part of integrated project team as requiredTrains team members on operations' support procedures
    Assists and mentors team members on projects and farm developmentCollaborates on analysis of the organization's database needs and long-term strategy for data storage
    Leads large scale data migrationsDevelops plan and inform WBS on SharePoint upgrades as required
 

Minimum 3 years qualifying experience:

    MS SharePoint 2007/2010/2013 designing, administering, upgrading, maintaining farmsMS SQL 2008/2012 administrationDesigning, implementing, testing, and maintaining database backup and restore plans, disaster recovery, and manual and automated high availability systems for SQL ServerReviewing TCNO/IAVA/NOTAM submissions for patching or firmware update requirementsUse of Remedy Ticketing SystemDelivery of services within the ITIL v3 frameworkUse of performance monitoring toolsWindows PowerShell scripting
Preferred experience:

    T-SQL code writing, troubleshooting, debugging, and tuning existing T-SQL code
    Replicating and setting up Active Directory sites and services
    Experience installing Windows Server 2012 in virtual environmentsVMWare 6.0 administration and optimization security features preferred F5 BigIP (LTM Load Balancing Equipment)
