The Developer will assist with analysis and documentation of requirements for enhancements to complex VistA clinical information systems AND assist with development of enhancements to VistA modules, primarily FileMan, based on these requirements.Researches, designs, develops and/or modifies enterprise-wide systems and/or applications software.

    Candidate must be proficient in the MUMPS programming language and as well as with the with Caché database software product.  Candidate must also be proficient with the VA FileMan database management system and the VA VistA health information system. Candidate must also be proficient in MS office products such as Visio, Word, and Excel. Knowledge of overall VA VistA functionality and underlying technical building blocks of VistA such as FileMan, RPC Broker, ScreenMan, MenuMan, Security Keys, and FileMan templates required.  Agile programming experiences and Test Driven Development experience is a plus.Experience in a healthcare setting analyzing, developing, and documenting functional and software requirements
The job position will require direct, hands on experience with analysis of and documentation of technical and functional requirements for enhancement of VA VistA software. All candidates must possess or have the ability to:

Education Bachelors Degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related technical discipline, or the equivalent combination of education, technical training, or work/military experience.

Qualifications 2-5 years of related software development experience.



    Ability to Obtain a Tier 2 / Moderate Background Investigation (MBI) - A Tier 2/MBI is conducted by OPM and covers a 5-year period. It consists of a review of National Agency Check (NAC) records [OPM Security Investigations Index (SII), DOD Defense Central Investigations Index (DCII), FBI name check, and a FBI fingerprint check], a credit report covering a period of 5 years, written inquiries to previous employers and references listed on the application for employment; an interview with the subject, law enforcement check; and a verification of the educational degree.
