The Social Policy & Practice (SPP) Department of the Policy Center for Environment and Peace at Conservation International (CI) works to develop innovative tools and approaches for effective, equitable stakeholder engagement in conservation. This includes work with Indigenous Peoples and Local Communities (IPLCs) to assess and address challenges and opportunities for their participation in decision-making processes for climate change mitigation and adaptation. The stakeholder engagement intern will assist with a needs assessment for strengthening regional IPLC networks in Africa, Asia, and Latin America. This will include transcribing interview and social network data, and surveying existing tools and approaches for stakeholder engagement across the conservation and development sectors.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Transcribe & code interviews and social network data for analysis
  • Survey available stakeholder engagement tools and approaches

WORKING CONDITIONS

    This position is based at HQ in Arlington, VA

QUALIFICATIONS

Required

    Able to start immediately Excellent writing and communication skills Ability to synthesize existing knowledge on related topics Strong organizational and analytical skills Attentiveness to detail Proficient in use of MS Excel Student pursuing a degree in Environmental Sciences, Social Sciences, or related fields
Preferred:

  • Familiarity with Social Network Analysis
