Running queries against the database.

    Install and trouble shoot systemsImplementation of Check Constraints, Referential Integrity and TriggersMaintain database configurationBackup/Recovery Performance tuningOperational aspects such as using Access Control Mechanisms to implement database securityCreating objects such as tables, views, indexes etc.Explore the use of table partitioningCollect information for problem analysis and resolutionUse error logs for basic problem analysis



In order for a candidate to be considered for the HCSD Internship Program, each must meet the following criteria:

Must have a High School DiplomaStudents must be enrolled Full Time at an accredited College or University.GPA requirement is 3.0 and above as verified by transcripts.Must meet qualifications for the internship as outlined in the requisition.Study in a technical discipline to include Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Management Information Systems, Business Analysis, Program Management, Management (HR, Finance, and Accounting, etc.), Applied Mathematics (Statistics, Probability, Analytics) and Health Policy or related and/or other technical programs of study.Possess Strong verbal and written communications.Possess problem solving and decision making ability.Successfully pass a background check and drug test. 

College courses recommended:

  • Data structures
  • Algorithms
  • Introduction to Information Systems
  • Operating Systems
  •          IBM Certified Database Associate preferred.

Qualifications 0-1 years of related experience supporting engineering, information technology or other technical operations.
