Manager for Cash Management and Collection - Division of Financial Affairs

The Manager for Cash Management and Collections is responsible for cash management, collection, and reporting of sponsored funds.  Reporting to the Director of Sponsored Projects Financial Operations, the Manager has duties that include but are not limited to:

  • Manages the federal letters of credit draw down to ensure compliance with the terms of sponsored awards and applicable laws and regulations.
  • Manages cash reporting to Federal sponsors and assures that cash payments received from sponsors are accurately accounted for and proper documentation is maintained within the University's Financial System (GMS). 
  • Monitors the sponsored projects accounts receivable listing and ensures complete collection of outstanding funds in support of accurate financial reporting.
  • Acts as a resource for the financial analysts, providing information on cash receipts from sponsors and helping ensure that operational responsibilities are fulfilled, policies are enforced, and customer service goals are reached.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree
  • 5 to 7 years' experience working directly with grants and contracts
  • Familiarity with Letter of Credit draws and reporting
  • Ability to manage staff
  • Demonstrated knowledge and skills in computerized financial software
  • Demonstrated understanding of research administration processes
  • Knowledge of OMB Uniform Guidance, as well as FAR, DS2 regulations, and private agency guidelines
  • Attention to detail with strong skills in accounting, Microsoft Office applications, and verbal and written communications
