Insurance Administrative Assistant
The George Mason University Student Health Services is seeking a full-time enthusiastic and energetic individual for Insurance Administrative Assistant to support the Student Health Insurance Office. Responsibilities: This position serves as initial point of contact in the Student Health Services Insurance Office, handling multiple tasks simultaneously working with students to review insurance request and facilitate processing insurance waiver information. The incumbent provides administrative support for the Insurance Coordinator and support for Immunization Office including large amounts of data entry.
Required Qualifications: * High school diploma, or an equivalent combination of education and experience; * Excellent communication and organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and to handle multiple tasks simultaneously; * Must be able to work independently; and * Proficiency in date entry (i.e., Microsoft Office applications and entering health information).
Preferred Qualifications: * Medical office front desk experience or other outpatient clinic experience; * Knowledge of medical office procedures, medical terminology and electronic health records; * Experience in a college health insurance and medical billing; and * Must have the ability to schedule students for health appointments using an electronic format, greet walk-in patients, and excellent communication and phone diction skills.
