This individual will oversee continued development of the constructive simulation Decisive Action Brigade Level (DABL) to include software installation and database development, and serve as the primary trainer for database, terrain and map image functions during scenario support and staff development processes utilizing DABL. Responsible for the design and development of the overall DABL network configuration.

1. Train and assist the client with developing, managing and maintaining the DABL database, terrain applications, and related software (Windows 7 Ultimate/XP, Office 2007, Adobe Reader 920 (and above), Adobe Flash 10, Direct X, WinZip, and DotNet FX 40 (and above)).
2. Assist with plans and execution of DABL enablers to support training exercises, testing and demonstrations.
3. Assist with developing, organizing, and conducting DABL based training and educational programs for customer personnel.
4. Assist the client with planning, developing and executing DABL training activities.

5. Assist with packaging, shipment and installation of a DABL ‘Fly-Away Package’ (consisting of +20 configured laptops, two servers and mobile network capability).

6. Develops and supports training event AAR's/LI-LL with DABL data-output and DABL replay capabilities.

7. Supervise and assist the client to insure all server and client workstations within the DABL suites are operational.

8. Monitors and operates computers and related peripheral equipment - voice, video, radio-frequency, and/or data communications networks in a federated environment (both DIS and HLA).

9. Participate in planning, designing, evaluating, selecting, and upgrading operating systems and protocol suites and configuring communication media with concentrators, bridges, and other devices.

10. Helps plan network layouts and configures systems to user environments.

11. Supports the acquisition of hardware and software as well as subcontractor services as needed including knowledge of relevant hardware, software, and computer equipment.

12. Provides technical support and troubleshooting to users.

13. Maintains current knowledge of relevant technology as assigned - principles, methods, techniques, work processes, and applicable regulations in assigned subject-matter area(s).

14. Participates in special projects as required.

Education Bachelors Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical discipline, or the equivalent combination of education, technical certifications or training, or work experience.

Qualifications GDIT Requirements:  5-8 years of directly related experience in network analysis and administration.

 

Contract Requirements:  6 years of directly related experience in network and system analysis and administration. Thorough knowledge of the DABL software, database configuration, terrain editing and mapping images is important.

 

Familiarity with DABL distribution through DIS and HLA architectures.
A minimum of two years experience as a successful constructive DABL operator and/or trainer.
Excellent communications skills, both verbal and written, are required.
Must have a comprehensive knowledge of military exercise design, development and execution.
Comprehensive knowledge of US/NATO weapons, US Army tactical doctrine and TTPs

 Teaching/training proficiency with DABL database and systems administration essential.
Seeking a retired officer or senior NCO with at least two years' experience as a successful DABL systems or database manager.Must be willing to travel within the rea of responsibility to support DABL related exercises.
