Summer Interns

Hola Cultura is looking for interns for summer 2017. This is a volunteer position ideal for a college or graduate student or a working professional interested in volunteering a few hours each week to support Hola Cultura's mission, while gaining valuable experience in community outreach, nonprofit management and event planning, or editorial experience working on our popular and frequently updated DC Latino arts & culture website.

Hola Cultura is a DC based, non-profit bilingual and bicultural organization that uses the arts and humanities as a means to inform, educate and promote civic engagement within the Latino community in Washington, DC. It is our core belief that the strategic development of strong cultural capital within the Latino community is crucial to our overall well-being and economic development of our communities. Become part of a growing organization that is filling a key need in the Latino community!

Interns report directly to Hola Cultura's Volunteer Coordinator and will play a key role in expanding Hola Cultura's mission and work.

WHO SHOULD APPLY?

Future journalists, writers, artists, digital communicators, nonprofit professionals, and web developers, who understand that the Internet is changing all aspects of storytelling - from the daily news to how novels and documentaries are made and sold. A creative spirit is a must, as well as an interest in finding new ways to connect with audiences. You must also enjoy talking with people and working in a team.

POSITIONS AVAILABLE

We seek Editorial Interns with a passion for the arts and proven storytelling, researching and fact-checking abilities. We are looking for a few talented and highly motivated interns interested in chronicling DC's Latino lifestyle with as much flare as the culture makers themselves. We also need a dedicated, creative and resourceful Social Media Intern interested not only in gaining professional experience but with coming up with innovative ways to engage our growing audience.
