Blood Product - Subject Matter Expert
Serves as a top level technical or functional expert, often working on multiple projects and programs. The candidate should demonstrate expert knowledge and experience with the clinical problem, relevant epidemiology, and familiar with vaccine technology and drug treatment therapies for, but not limited to, Cryopreserved Platelets (CPP), Freeze Dried Platelets (FDP), Whole Blood Pathogen Reduction Device (WBPRD), Cold Stored Platelets (CSP), Compliment Inhibitor and other treatments for infectious diseases. The candidate shall provide internal consulting capability to the PSPMO Project Manager and PSPMO office in addition to the performance of product manager duties for a variety of combat casualty care, infectious diseases, and Defense Health Program programs contained in the PSPMO portfolio. The contractor shall be knowledgeable in the Department of Defense’s acquisition process. The contracted support shall be a substantive participant in Integrated Product Teams (IPTs) as a subject matter expert. The candidate shall provide expert written reviews, briefings, and recommendations to PSPMO Product Managers for developmental medical projects to include reviewing and interpreting results with an emphasis toward compliance with safety, efficacy, intellectual property, clinical trial design, and pathways for approval by the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA). At the end of data analysis, the contractor shall support scientific preparation of results for eventual publication in peer reviewed scientific journals or other media or publication. The candidate shall provide review of documents that will be submitted to the FDA or other Governmental or Military organizations. The candidate shall provide manuscript reviews for documents/reports submitted to scientific journals. Education PhD in a related discipline.
