1. Assesses, installs, maintains, and repairs electrical, electronic, mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatics and/or other types of components and equipment for MK 45. 2. Installs, maintains, repairs, overhauls, troubleshoots, modifies, constructs and tests various types of electrical, electronic, hydraulic, pneumatic and/or mechanical equipment and related devices. 3. Applies technical knowledge of electrical, electronics, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatics principles in order to put equipment in operational condition and solve complex problems. 4. Troubleshoots and corrects malfunctions using specialized test and diagnostic equipment. 5. Modifies equipment for maximum efficiency and to improve performance. 6. Makes recommendations for improvements or modifications to correct problems. 7. Provides operation/maintenance instruction to customer personnel. 8. Prepares operating and malfunction reports and related documentation. 9. Assists engineering staff in determining and solving equipment design problems. 10. May perform quality assurance testing of assemblies and equipment fabricated by other technicians. 11. May provide work leadership to less-experienced technicians. 12. Maintains current knowledge of relevant technologies as assigned. 13. Participates in special projects as required.

Education Associates Degree in a related technical discipline, or the equivalent combination of education, technical certifications or training, or work experience.


Shall have successfully completed Navy NEC 0879 training and prefer completion of Navy NEC 0880 training.

Qualifications 5-8 years of directly related experience supporting engineering operations.


3-6 Years of related experience. Minimum of 3 years of directly related experience supporting MK 45 Systems and associated ancillary/auxiliary equipment for US Navy ships. Prior Navy experience required.

Must have valid driver's license. Must be able to work onboard ships at US Navy bases and in shipyards. Must be able to work alone and as part of a team. Must be able to lift and carry 40 pounds. Must be able to climb ladders and staging. Must have good verbal and written communciation skills. Must have a minimum of six (6) years hands on experience within the last 10 years. Applicants selected will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. Must be able to get a secret clearance. Attainment of special electronic repair skills/certifications such as basic soldering, wire wrap, connectorization, fiber optics, PCMS, etc will be considered a plus. Will need CPR cert, passport, OSHA 10 training and VSRA training
