Provides technical advice and guidance on installation, adaptation, configuration, and/or enhancement of technical products, programs and systems.

 1. Provides technical advice and guidance on installation, adaptation, configuration and/or enhancement of company technical products, programs and systems.

 2. Provides expertise for resolving technical problems.

 3. Modifies products, programs and systems to customer requirements.

 4. Serves as company liaison with customer on administrative and technical matters for assigned projects.

 5. Provides end-user training.

 6. Performs various tests and documents results.

 7. Schedules work to meet completion dates and technical specifications;

 8. Provides guidance and work leadership to less-experienced engineers and technicians, and may have supervisory responsibilities.

 9. May serve as technical team or task lead.

 10. Maintains current knowledge of relevant technologies as assigned.

 11. Participates in special projects as required.

Education Bachelors Degree or equivalent relevant experience.

Qualifications 8-10 years of related field engineering experience.

 The incumbent will be responsible for providing system configuration, build, deployment, installation, and operations and maintenance support to various customer tactical communications systems.  This individual will need to review and red line network drawings and provide training on systems as requested by the customer.

This individual must have a working knowledge of satellite communications and networking principles and be able to apply that knowledge in a tactical communications environment to integrate and troubleshoot systems and equipment.

 

The incumbent must able to travel to any CONUS/OCONUS location as required.  This position requires up to 40% travel and the incumbent must be willing to travel to conflict zones / hazardous locations.

 

The incumbent will support the customer's system build and test requirements.  On-site build and test activities shall include, but not be limited to:

  • Placing orders for required equipment or components to support build-out of tactical communications packages under customer procurement efforts.
  • Uncrating, set-up, and build-out of new equipment
  • Hardware and software configuration and customization of tactical packages
  • System integration and testing of built packages
  • Pack-out and shipment of the complete packages
  • Removal and appropriate disposal of any old or excess communications and computer equipment, hard drives, memory, and video cards
  • Preparation of customer tactical and liaison communication system documentation
  • Conducting site surveys as needed prior to installation
  • Drawings of rack elevations, system component front and back views, wiring interconnect diagrams, wire lists, and networks
  • Training of onsite customer personnel on developed and installed packages
  • Test, inspection, verification of all customer tactical communications systems ensuring compliance with COMSEC policies and procedures and project management requirements.
