Administrative Assistant - Disability Services
George Mason University Disability Services (DS) seeks an Administrative Assistant to perform a wide variety of administrative support functions for the department. Responsibilities: * Greet students and Mason community at the front desk; * Explain DS services and registration process and procedures; * Make referrals after assessing needs or concerns; * Answer phones and make appointments for office staff; * Work on special projects and perform general office administrative duties; * Document and monitor new files; * Manage note-taking services and smartpens; * Assist with the testing center duties and explain the testing center policies and procedures to students; and * Other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications: * Flexible with daily tasks and requests; * Detailed-oriented; * Effective communication and written skills; * Experience in Microsoft Office applications, database maintenance and data entry; * Ability and willingness to work as part of a team; * Proficient knowledge and editing capabilities of written English; and * Ability to work effectively with people from diverse backgrounds.
Preferred Qualifications: * Bachelorâ€™s degree; * Direct office experience; * Experience in Microsoft Publisher/Adobe software; * Knowledge of testing center policies; * Experience working with people with disabilities; and * Knowledge of the needs of students in higher educations.
