AdvertisementUnder the direction of the Operations Director, MedStar Orthopaedic Institute, the Assistant Director of Ambulatory Operations is responsible for the daily ambulatory practice operations of the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery at MWHC. Oversees administrative and clinical staff responsible for ensuring successful daily clinical operations. Responsible for optimal clinic throughput, patient scheduling and registration, billing processes, insurance authorizations, and implementation of MedStar policies and procedures. Responsible for clinical revenue cycle management, including cash collections, billing charge entry, and account reconciliation. Works closely with leadership to develop, implement, and sustain leading practice models for ambulatory operations, including training, planning, coordination of shared services, facility management, and general operations. EDUCATION Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Health Services Administration or directly related discipline is required. Master's degree is preferred. PRIOR EXPERIENCE Approximately four to five years of progressively more responsible job related experience in hospital-based or physician practice, or management of a large business operation that would indicate the ability to perform the position. CERTIFICATION/REGISTRATION/LICENSURE No special certification, registration, or licensure required. Membership in a professional group such as MGMA and/or ACHE is strongly preferred.
