Labor and delivery nurses are responsible for taking care of a woman before, while and after her baby is born and monitoring the emotional well-being of the mother. L&D nurses can be involved in everything from helping doctors develop a plan for delivering a particular patient's infant, teach childbirth techniques, and monitor a pregnancy. They must use professional judgment, critical thinking, and fast decision making skills. L&D nurses care for women who are laboring, having complications of pregnancy or having recently delivered. They work closely with patients, families, and other health care professionals
· Current District of Columbia RN license.

· Current BLS, NRP, and STABLE.

· Graduate of Accredited Nursing School,Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required, MSN preferred.

· One year experience as Labor and DeliveryNurse.

· Ability to monitor multiple patients.
