Job Type: Full-Time Location: 2100 Washington Blvd., Arlington, VA (Sequoia Plaza) *ART Bus Accessible*, Virginia       The Information Systems Bureau (ISB) of the Arlington County Department of Human Services (DHS) is searching for an IT Services Coordinator to support staff with information technology service management. This employee is responsible for troubleshooting technical problems, coordinating responses, and identifying resolutions to technology issues while serving as a leading resource for the agency. The employee will work together with the County's Department of Technology Services to coordinate DHS' participation in enterprise-wide updates and to resolve issues with day-to-day service delivery.

Duties include:
  • Collaborating with various external local, state, and federal agencies (e.g. Virginia Department of Health and Virginia Department of Social Services) in order to provide support and direction to internal staff;
  • Serving as the Records and Information Management technical expert and analyst, in partnership with the DHS Compliance team;
  • Planning new SharePoint sites, coaching staff, aiding the development of sites, and assuring quality and compliance;
  • Serving as a DHS liaison with the County's Department of Technology Services to develop communications clarifying County or state technology changes, and providing special audio/visual system planning and support;
  • Serving as one of the local security officers for state-supported social services programs; and
  • Managing the department's utilization of the County's outsourced print services.
The ideal candidate will apply strong verbal and written communication skills to provide optimal customer service, effective technology communication, and expertise in task coordination skills.
 Selection Criteria: Minimums: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Management, Health Informatics, or related field, plus two years of experience in technology services.

Substitution: Additional relevant experience may substitute for the education requirement on a year for year basis.

Desirables: Preference may be given to candidates with experience in one or more of the following:
  • Understanding of ITIL principles to help organize IT support services;
  • Developing and maintaining SharePoint sites; and/or
  • Documented experience developing service management techniques and tools.

 Special Requirements: Applicant must possess, or obtain by the time of appointment, a valid motor vehicle operator's license from the applicant's place of residence or the applicant must have the ability and willingness to use alternative methods of transportation to perform assigned duties and responsibilities at locations other than the primary worksite. If the applicant possesses or acquires a license, the applicant must provide or authorize Arlington County to obtain a copy of the applicant's official state/district driving record. Any offer of employment may be contingent on a favorable review of the applicant's driving record.
 Additional Information: Work Hours: Monday - Friday between the hours of 8:00 A.M. - 5:00 P.M
