Job Description: The ontologist is responsible for developing the vision and strategy for using ontologies to organize and classify knowledge to support authoring of semantically rich structured and unstructured content, search and findability,. Responsibilities include initiating and executing plan for semantic content enrichment processes to support continuous improvement of existing products, product line extensions, and new product development.

Other
BA (MS preferred) in Library Science, Information Science, Informatics, Knowledge Management or related field. Requires expert data analysis, problem analysis and solution skills, ability to translate complex technical information for varying audiences, leadership for developing strong relationships enterprise-wide and to evangelize value proposition of discipline, and strong execution against plan and dynamic business needs. Must be an organized self-starter, who is highly productive. Understanding the established medical standards associated with the ULMS (unified library medical systems) SNOWMED, MESH, RxNorm, ICD 9-10, LOINC, and MedDRA. Experience applying semantic web technologies, RDF, OWL, SKOS, SPARQL, ontology editing programs. Knowledge of healthcare related terminology, processes and data sources.
