The position is responsible for managing Intelsat's overall relationship with iDirect and will oversee the management of Intelsat's iDirect based platform products, including the IntelsatOne Flex service, providing service to the enterprise and mobility sectors. These are key products in Intelsat's solutions portfolio, with significant internal and external visibility of their development and performance.  The incumbent will work with Product Management, Network Engineering and Operations groups to ensure optimum product performance in terms of both revenue attainment and service performance.  Requiring substantial interaction with equipment vendors and participation in the development of customer solutions, the incumbent for this high visibility role will have a wide-ranging knowledge of the ecosystem for both traditional and Intelsat EpicNG class satellites.

Critical Responsibilities

•Act as the product expert in negotiations with iDirect and as primary Intelsat relationship manager with iDirect

•Develop and manage iDirect vendor relationships to support the achievement of agreed commercial outcomes as they relate to Intelsat product development

•Ownership of the performance (aside from revenue performance) of the Company's iDirect-based products, ensuring fitness for purpose in terms of delivery, operation and in meeting market requirements

•Maintain oversight of the primary day-to-day contact between Intelsat and iDirect.

•Oversee the introduction of IntelsatOne Flex, utilizing iDirect's Velocity platform, in association with other Network Engineering and Operations teams

•Collaborate with cross-functional teams from Strategy, Product Management and Sales to define new product requirements and roadmap deliverables for iDirect, then manage iDirect through the development cycle

•Ensure timely supply of iDirect product information, pricing and support for key opportunities and consultative selling

•Act as primary Intelsat interface to the vendor for the supply of Intelsat EpicNG design information for consequent vendor development of Intelsat EpicNG optimized equipment

•Evaluate opportunities for product enhancements

•Develop capital & operational expenditure budgets with operational units for iDirect-based products

•Act as second-line product support to sales teams and, in particular, provide support for complex bid opportunities utilizing deep understanding of the iDirect platforms and of Intelsat costs & operational procedures

Important Responsibilities

•Assist Product Marketing in the development of product guides and other sales enablement  tools

•Provide Product Management and Business Management teams with underlying product costs in support of standard and tactical pricing

•Maintain a strong understanding of current and anticipated customer and market requirements for new products and services

Required Knowledge and Skills

•Bachelors degree and a minimum of seven years experience, or an equivalent combination of work experience and education with extensive knowledge of the Fixed Satellite Services industry and satellite communications technologies

•Strong understanding of the data networks industry with specific focus on the business dynamics of satellite and terrestrial networks used by data customers

•Ability to communicate technical concepts to non-technical audiences

•Distinctive problem-solving and strategic planning capabilities

•Strong analytical and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact efficiently with peers, maintain and influence internal and customer working relationships at all levels

•Relationship management experience preferably with satellite equipment manufacturers such as iDirect, Comtech EF Data, Newtec or Hughes

•Must have excellent organizational and database skills, with the ability to coordinate between multiple systems

•Excellent writing, verbal communications and presentation ability

•Requires thorough knowledge of economics of satellite, terrestrial and wireless communications solutions

•Understanding of  iDirect's products for the Enterprise and Mobility market segments is preferred
