The National Sporting Library & Museum (NSLM) Internship Program provides learning opportunities for students and recent graduates who are interested in pursuing a career in museums, libraries, archives, or non-profit organizations. Interns work directly with staff on a variety of projects and gain hands-on experience with collections and programming. Projects are assigned based on departmental needs, and the interns' professional skills, interests, and career goals. Interns will also have the opportunity to attend guided tours and info sessions with NSLM staff from different departments.
Internship positions are unpaid. NSLM is willing to coordinate with academic programs for those students wishing to earn credit. Ideal candidates will be detail oriented undergraduate or graduate students (or recent graduate) with strong research, writing, and interpersonal skills. Candidates must be proficient with standard computer software, such as Word, Excel and Photoshop.
Summer term positions are available May through August. 2017 positions are available in: Curatorial, Education, Library, Marketing, and Photography Departments.
