Systems Engineer (Mid-Level)
Individual will perform functional analysis of the Ballistic Missile Defense System (BMDS) supporting the systems engineering process for the Missile Defense Agency (MDA) as a member of the System Concepts and Requirement (SC&R) product team within the “National Team” System Engineering organization. Individual will perform BMDS requirements analyses utilizing model based systems engineering (MBSE) methodologies and tools to support development of system engineering products for MDA. The individual will document analysis results in reports and briefings to be presented to the Missile Defense Agency Engineering Team – Industry (MET-I) and Missile Defense Agency (MDA) representatives. Individual will support and participate in technical meetings with MDA counterparts, leaders, and technical staff. Education Masters Degree in Engineering or a related technical discipline. Degree and experience in an engineering classification, mathematics or physics: Bachelor’s, Master’s or PhD. Qualifications 8-10 years of related engineering experience. Required Qualifications: Individual must have a technical background in requirements development to include use of DOORS and a requirements modelling tool such as “System Architect” or “Rhapsody.” Individual must be able to demonstrate knowledge of one or more of BMDS or similar capabilities: EO/IR sensors, RF/Radar sensors, kill vehicles, missiles/interceptors, threats & countermeasures, target discrimination, or command and control (e.g., C3I, C4I, etc.). Individual must possess good communication skills. Capable of working both independently and within a small team environment. Desired Qualifications: Systems engineering experience generating system-of-system level specification requirements and interface documents. Experience in writing interface control documents. Ability to prepare, organize, and present briefings/demonstrations to senior Government Customer and Industry leadership.
